History:
It’s likely to believe that the aborigines first came to Australia and Oceania about 30 000 years ago. However, in 1996 scientist and archaeologists found tools and weapons that is said to be more then a 100 000 years old. How the Aborigines first came to Australia is unknown, but experts believe they came in small boats or canoes form the south-east of Asia through Indonesia. The aborigines got food by hunting according to the experts. This had a huge effect on the nature in Australia. Just some 1000 years after the aborigines came to Australia all the large animals were exterminated, except the crocodile. The aborigines were never introduced to farming, so they have always been hunters. In 1788 almost 750 000 aborigines lived in Australia and up to 250 different tribes.
